Turkey meatballs


Ingredients

  • 28oz ground turkey (1 costco pkg)

  • 1 small onion diced

  • 2 tbps parsley

  • 1 tsp oregano

  • 1 tsp basil

  • 1 egg

  • 3 tbsp pasta sauce

  • 3 minced garlic cloves

  •  1 tsp salt

  •  ¼ tsp pepper

  •  ¼ cup whole wheat bread crumbs

  •  2/3 cup parmesan cheese (optional)


Directions:

In a large bowl combine all of the ingredients, mix thoroughly.  Shape into approx. 2 inch size meatballs.  Place on a baking sheet and bake at 350° for 25 minutes.  Add sauce to a large pan, about 10 minutes before, to heat through, once finished cooking add meatballs to sauce.

Notes:  I use Rao Marinara pasta sauce.  It is all natural, has very few ingredients and no sugar added.  These are great on their own, over salad, or over spaghetti squash/ Banza pasta.
