honey sesame chicken with cabbage salad
Ingredients
2lbs chicken
¼ cup honey
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp garlic, minced
1 tsp ginger
2 tbsp sesame seeds
½ tsp red pepper flakes
Green onion for garnish
Sesame oil for cooking
2 tbsp cornstarch for cooking
Sauce:
2 tbsp honey
1 ½ tbsp soy sauce
½ tbsp apple cider vinegar
½ tbsp garlic, minced
Salad:
½ head of cabbage
½ cup shredded carrots
¼ cup shredded cilantro
¼ cup chopped green onion
Directions:
Combine the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic, and ginger in a large bowl. Cut the chicken breast into bite sized pieces and place in marinade bowl. Marinate in the fridge for 1-6 hours. Take chicken pieces out of marinade and place on plate, dust with the cornstarch. In a wok heat up sesame oil (enough just to cover the bottom of pan) on medium heat. Cook chicken for ~3min each side, just until brown. While chicken is cooking, in a small bowl combine the sauce ingredients. Once chicken is cooked, add sauce and sesame seeds. Stir to coat. In a large salad bowl combine all of the salad ingredients. Serve chicken over salad, and enjoy!
